About us
Wheelie Cool kicked off on the Gold Coast with one simple idea: turn everyday wheelie bins into a bit of backyard magic.
And look, we wish there was some epic origin story, like a flash of genius while driving to work, or a chance meeting with Steve Smith at the servo, but the truth is much more straightforward.
We loved backyard cricket. Most arvos during cricket season we’d be watching Australia play, then digging out the old plastic stumps for a game. The real problem? Those stumps spent more time being used by the kids as swords on the trampoline than they ever did on the pitch.
Two boys vs one dad usually ends in someone crying, someone cracking it, and a stump being launched up a tree. Another stump would disappear under a bed. One would go missing entirely. So when it came time to actually play cricket… we were always short a stump or two.
Which meant one thing...
The trusty wheelie bin stepped up as the Man of the Match.
Perfect height. Built-in backstop. Impossible to lose. Turns out, it made for a pretty great wicket.
That’s when the idea sparked. Fast-forward six months of sketching, testing, laughing, and getting the designs just right, and Wheelie Cool was born.
